Green smoothies are all the hype! And that’s because they are super good for you! Leafy and green veggies have a number of benefits for your body and for your gut! But for a lot of folks, the thought of drinking something that tastes so earthy is a bit intimidating. It is an acquired taste I would say (which for the record, anyone can acquire 🙂 ) but I often enjoy making this lighter version that still includes all of the good stuff that green smoothies offer!
The great thing about smoothies is you can really just throw in whatever you have in the fridge. By doing this, I usually come up with some really great recipes which I end up making over and over again. I am excited to share this one with you just in time for spring. Good news too, its kid and husband friendly 🙂
Cool Cucumber Green Smoothie
2 handfuls of Spinach
Half a cucumber, sliced
3 Tablespoons of Hemp Hearts
Small handful of frozen pineapples
Note: The quantities are based on the size of your smoothie cup. Make them smaller or bigger depending on the size. I mostly use the larger one.
- First, push the spinach into the bottle of the smoothie cup.
- Add your cucumber.
- Add Hemp Hearts.
- Add Frozen Pineapple.
- Fill up with coconut water until the fill line.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into a cup, or enjoy right from the smoothie cup!
