In the busyness that is today’s world, our minds sometimes don’t stop. We are constantly wrapped up in this ‘there are not enough hours in the day’ mentality and that ‘we can sleep when were dead’ concept. Though I am hustling hard to build my health and wellness empire, I am constantly reminding myself and taking the time to ensure I have a good nights sleep. Truth is, I love my sleep! There is nothing better than crawling into my bed after a long day and drifting off to sleep. As a mom, I don’t always get enough of it (early rising toddler over here), and I really feel the effects if I am sleep deprived. Continue reading “Sleep: The Natural Healer”
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me….Day 1 of the 12k’s of Christmas challenge. For the next 12 days I plan to run 1 km per day. And I want to invite you along with me! If you’re not a runner, you can walk! Or, if you are looking for a way to get into running, starting with one kilometre a day is a great way to build up your endurance.
It feels like I haven’t blogged in forever (really I only missed posting last week, but when you only post once a week, this stretch feels like longer!). The last two weeks have been a little crazy making! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know last week I wrote my final exam for the first course of my Holistic Nutrition and Health Coach Certification. Today I wanted to share with you a few misconceptions that people have about being active, and exercising. I’m really hoping to bust some of the things that can be used to hold people back or lead people to not be active so that we can all lead a life where we move on the regular!
I often get people asking me how I find the time for myself while raising a toddler, working full time, taking care of a home, and spending time with my husband, family and friends.
Truth is, it isn’t always as easy as it looks. And often, I don’t feel like I have the time to do it all. I still feel all of those normal feelings like guilt, or feeling like I should be doing something else. So how do I do it?

Everyone once and a while when I get my hands on a really good book, I love to share it with as many people as I can. I know I am more likely to pick something up and read it if it has a review from someone that I trust, someone who’s opinion I value versus a stranger. I really enjoy reading self written books that align with where I am at in life. This year I have been reading a lot of books focused around living well, being fit and being healthy. I do this because by aligning my desire to be fit, slim, healthy, and active with the content that I am reading, it helps me to stay on track. I never fail to learn something new, or find something from these books that I then take with me into my everyday life and incorporate them as part of my new normal. The other reason that I read these types of books, which to me is the most important is that you can exercise like crazy and you can eat clean as you have ever eaten before, but there is a lot to be said about you being in tune with your body.
