Essential oils have changed how we approach wellness in our home, and with my daughter, there is no exception. As a 3 year old who is constantly absorbing what is going on around her, and is always wanting to learn, I have enjoyed getting to share these tools and this experience with her, and her being able to reap the benefits as well.
I started using oils regularly in my home early on in this year, and have been reaping the benefits ever since! I’ve always enjoyed scents like lavender, peppermint, frankincense, but I hadn’t really been educated on using them or the super powers that they hold!
In the busyness that is today’s world, our minds sometimes don’t stop. We are constantly wrapped up in this ‘there are not enough hours in the day’ mentality and that ‘we can sleep when were dead’ concept. Though I am hustling hard to build my health and wellness empire, I am constantly reminding myself and taking the time to ensure I have a good nights sleep. Truth is, I love my sleep! There is nothing better than crawling into my bed after a long day and drifting off to sleep. As a mom, I don’t always get enough of it (early rising toddler over here), and I really feel the effects if I am sleep deprived. Continue reading “Sleep: The Natural Healer”
Maybe you have been hearing about them over social media, maybe you had no idea that people were using essential oils again, or maybe all you know about essential oils is that they are oils. Either way, I wanted to take some time to share with you a little bit about my experience with them, and also to educate you a bit more on how easy they are to use!
It has been a whirlwind of a January.
To start the year, I lost my grandfather. One of the most selfless people I have ever known. We were close him and I. My Opa was someone to look up to. He was kind and mentoring to all us grandchildren. He was always the mediator for as long as I can remember. Always encouraging us to be the best we could be, and to be kind to others… always telling us that he loved us. He was the glue that kept our family together, and I was feeling a huge loss. He was now free to join my Oma, who had passed when I was pregnant with my daughter.
Just after, I was struck with a serious blast of influenza. What started as fever and chill and exhaustion, turned into sinus pressure and a nasty cough, paired with more exhaustion. On the 10th day of riding out the sickness,
With the last few days of 2017 upon us (I honestly cannot believe how fast the last few months flew by!) I have been spending a lot of time planning all my goals for 2018, but I have also spent some time reflecting on the goals I have accomplished in 2017.
With Halloween being over, and Christmas already knocking at our door (I am not complaining), I cannot believe that we are rounding into the end of 2017.
It is encouraging me to reflect back to what I had set out to do this year, what my New Years resolutions were, and to see how far I have come. I remember the end of December last year. I was excited to start the new Bikini Body Mommy challenge that was coming out! As an aside, I must say for any new mom who is looking to get back into shape or any mom who wants access to a free program, Brianna Christine’s method and message is so motivating, and most of what she offers is free when you register for her website, which is also free.
With planning to start this journey, I assembled an accountability group consisting of both women around the world doing this program as well as some of my co-workers and friends were going to do it too. I was determined to succeed, see the 90 days through and make 2017 my year.
Flash forward 11 months…I have accomplished so much this year! I have lost a total of 20 pounds, discovered my passion for helping others with their health and fitness goals, enrolled in an online course to get certified to do that, and I started this blog! Now I would say that I have been so successful, however that does not mean that I don’t continue to challenge myself to grow and change and make each day the best that I can.
I want to extend this challenge onto you. We have roughly 2 months left in the year. Two more months of 2017.
Think back to last New Year’s Eve, what were your hopes for the year? What did you want to achieve. If you have a fitness or nutrition goal or are looking to lose weight, you still have time to make some significant changes!
The average recommended weight loss is 2 pounds per week. If you are losing at this rate, not only is it healthy for your body, but you are more likely to be able to keep it off! That being said, if you started a nutrition and fitness plan next week, you could lose 14 pounds by the end of the year! Not only that, but by incorporating more fruits and vegetables, proteins, healthy fats- all in balance with each other, you would be able to drastically change your energy levels, body functioning and the way that you feel overall! Who wouldn’t want to feel better!
If you need some support, and want to make the next 7 weeks of 2017 the best you have this year, please reach out to me! I would love to work with you to finish off the year in health!
What are you going to do to make the next 7 weeks count? I would love to hear it!
As soon as the cooler weather hits, I cannot get enough of soups and stews. (Mainly because I am always cold. I am currently sitting here typing in big slippers, drinking a hot tea and basking in the hot pack that I heated up purely just to keep me warm… oh and I am preheating my bed with a heating pad.. for real) Fortunately, over these last few years, I have built quite the collection of tried and true recipes that I continue to make over and over again!
I’ve noticed that balance is a word people are using more and more when it comes to their daily lives and how they make it all work. Balance is also a term often associated with diet and weight loss. But it is about so much more than that too! I wanted to share a little bit with you about why balance is so such a huge part of how I live my day to day, and how it keeps me in check with myself.
