Setting Goals and Making them Happen!

Setting GoalsWe all have things that we want out of life, places we want to go, careers we’d like to have, people we want to be and lives we want to live. Far too often, we look around at others reaching their aspirations and wish we could be where they are. Well, great news… you can be!I have tons of goals for 2017, some of which I have accomplished already. I want to complete a 5 km run, I want to reach my pre-pregnancy weight, I want to live healthier, and I want to set a good example for my daughter as she grows up. When I think about all these goals, it seems pretty overwhelming thinking how am I going to be able to conquer them and trying to figure out where I am going to start. So here’s what has worked really well for me! Not everything is going to work for everyone and you need to find what works best for you, but here it is. I have found that it is true what they say… start by writing them all down. Write anything that you want, anything that you desire, nothing is impossible! Once you have all your goals written down this allows you to get them out of your head and you can then begin to give some clarity about how you are going to start accomplishing them.Planner 1This year, I alot of my goals revolve around fitness and losing weight. At some point this will change and shift (in fact it already has a bit since my personal growth at the beginning of January). Saying I want to be at my pre pregnancy weight can be a huge feat to- especially when that means you have over 20 pounds to lose, so I needed to find a way to make that more attainable. For those of you that know me in my personal life, you know that I love pretty notebooks and planners, I love writing in them and I love organising them. Planner 2By recommendation from a friend last year, I purchased a PLUM PAPER planner and I LOVED it (highly recommend if you are looking for a multi—use, totally customizable life book) I am on my second one! On top of the planner aspect, there are several add-ins that you can include to make it work for you Plum Paper Webpage budgeting tabs, meal planning tabs, and the fitness tab which I included in mine this time around. The fitness tab includes a month by month lay out that has spots to set goals, track weight, record high and lows during the month as well as keep track of your workouts. This tools has been a game changer for me. Since using this add in planner, I have met all of my goals each month. It gives me a place to check in weekly, even daily and always remind myself of where I want to be, and what I need to do to get there. If there’s anything I can say, I STRONGLY suggest writing down your goals, making them small, measurable and set a time on them. If you do that, I hope it helps you to feel more in control and start to meet some of those goals!I linked some photos of my planner below for you to get an idea of what this layout looks like!
Happy Goal Reaching :)Hugs and Kisses,Andrea
