If you have been following along with me for the past year on my blogging journey, then you will know I am a big advocate for loving yourself. In a day where social media is so in your face, there are even more ways than ever to trick you into thinking you are not good enough, or that you don't measure up. Well, I am here to tell you that you do!!! I didn't always find it so easy to practice self love, and giving myself grace, it took some practice. And in fact, I find there are times I still need to remind myself of this. No one is perfect, but I have gotten to a place where if I get derailed, I am able to easily get back to that place. Today I wanted to share with you some easy tips you can start to incorporate in your day to be more mindful of practicing self love! Because when you can truly love yourself, that happiness translates into everything you do.

Indulge in Your Vices- Indulging in those things and foods that we know aren't good for us is not something I would recommend you do all the time. But I am a very firm believer in balance- and if there is something you really enjoy, I say once and a while.. GO FOR IT. This can be good for your soul, and that is more important than sticking to a stick lifestyle. You need to love an honor yourself. And on that topic, when you do indulge, save yourself the negative self talk, because that sure isn't indicative of loving up on yourself. Let's be real, one donut is not going to make you 'fat' nor undo everything you have been working towards. Also, if I am being real honest, I will NEVER say no if you mention the word "charcuterie"

Choose to be Happy-  This one is one that I have to often keep in check. I feel things really deeply, and I wear my heart on my sleeve, and therefore, a lot of things can get to me. I need to make the conscious daily choice to choose happy despite everything that goes on around me. It is easier said than done, but in choosing to be happy, you are protecting yourself.

Give Yourself Grace- We can't all be on our game all of the time, and we will have days where we feel less than, or are not happy with choices we have made, things we have done. But another part of loving yourself is acknowledging we all have bad days and off days and you need to allow yourself the grace of that.

Daily Affirmations\Positive Self Talk- So many of us are guilty of talking to ourselves in ways we would never talk to anyone else. The amount of criticism and judgement... we might not have friends if we talked to them this way. Yet, we continue to bash our bodies, push down our feelings and hold ourselves back. Well no more! It takes some work, but at some point each day- make a mindful decision to recognize something great about yourself (and there are many things!) and be sure to tell yourself! If that feels weird to you, just think it. But the more you talk to yourself, the easier it becomes.

Don't Take Yourself Too Seriously- Life is too short to be stuffy. Find ways each day to relax and feed your soul. Act silly, laugh too hard at something no one else finds funny, sing out loud, break out in dance. Whatever it is! I have some awesome colleagues and we frequently break out in song or dance at our work space... and it can change my whole day around! It is that kind of stuff which make you smile, that is really loving yourself enough to do things that make you happy.

And most of all- ACCEPT YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE, RIGHT NOW!!I hope this helps you to gain some direction in finding ways each day in which you can start to build that loving relationship with the most important person in your life... YOU!

Hugs and Kisses,
